Nairobi's traffic is legendary. As far as I can tell, the only organizing principle is the presence of a road. Private buses known as "matatus," filled beyond capacity and garishly decorated, casually endanger the lives of passengers and pedestrians alike. Here we see a man hanging out the doorway of a moving bus; he is probably the tout (one responsible for goading people into using the bus) but just as likely is a passenger who couldn't fit inside. As they say in Nairobi, "there's always room for one more."
